I used to do Duolingo to learn dutch, but to be honest with myself, it only gets you to some level but not further. After some point, you are repeating the same examples over and over. And the learning curve slows down and becomes less motivating.
I used to use flashcards for learning kazakh and a bit of arabic. I had a positive experience in expanding my vocabulary. However, I missed the option to learn and practice grammar.
